Frequently asked questions
How we buy, import, store and distribute inputs for our clients, and how to start an operation with Aurea.
About Aurea
What does Aurea Trade Partners do?
Aurea Trade Partners structures and executes trade and sourcing operations for companies that need to buy, import, store or distribute inputs and products. We can participate from finding and negotiating with suppliers through delivery of the product to the buyer in Mexico.
Does Aurea buy and sell on its own account or only act as an intermediary?
Depending on the operation, Aurea may act as the commercial counterparty and take on the purchase and subsequent sale of the product, or structure an operation jointly with the client and the necessary participants. The model is defined before each project begins.
Is Aurea a logistics company or a customs brokerage?
No. Aurea is a commercial operator. We coordinate the various components of an operation—suppliers, transport, insurance, customs clearance, storage and distribution—relying on authorized specialists and providers where appropriate.
Does Aurea lend its importers' registry?
No. Aurea imports only goods it acquires for its own sale. Ownership, risk and customs responsibility for those imports belong to Aurea.
Does Aurea invoice third-party operations?
No. Aurea invoices only what it actually sells or the services it actually provides. In a commercial representation, the represented brand invoices its products and Aurea invoices its commission.
Can you help a foreign company operate in Mexico without setting up a company?
Yes, through a soft landing. A Mexican company of the group contracts with the client in Mexico, provides the service with its own operations, invoices and collects payment; from its home country, the foreign company provides the specialized services that correspond to it, with a contract, deliverables and an invoice. It is not lending a legal name: each company is accountable for what it invoices and meets its obligations in its own country.
How is Aurea different from buying directly from the supplier?
Buying directly may require advancing capital, managing foreign suppliers, coordinating international logistics, carrying inventory and managing multiple participants. Aurea can consolidate those processes into a single commercial structure and give the buyer a simpler, more predictable solution.
Operations and sourcing
Can Aurea import the product and sell it to me already cleared through Mexican customs?
Yes, depending on the structure of the operation. In certain projects, Aurea may acquire goods abroad, coordinate their import and then sell them to the domestic buyer under previously agreed terms.
Can you also find international suppliers?
Yes. We can support sourcing processes, supplier comparison, commercial negotiation and supply chain structuring. The depth of the validation process depends on the product, country of origin and characteristics of the operation.
I already have a supplier. Can Aurea handle just the operation?
Yes. The supplier does not need to be sourced by Aurea. We can evaluate operations where the client has already identified the manufacturer or supplier and needs support structuring purchasing, importing, inventory or distribution.
What types of products do you handle?
Mainly raw materials, industrial inputs, permitted chemicals, commodities and products linked to B2B supply chains. Each product is evaluated individually, considering commercial, logistical, regulatory and financial viability.
Do you handle one-time operations or recurring contracts?
Both, although our model is most valuable in recurring operations. A monthly or annual supply program makes it possible to optimize purchasing, inventory, logistics, availability and working capital.
Is there a minimum volume to work with Aurea?
There is no universal volume. It depends on the product, origin, logistics and value of the operation. We evaluate each opportunity based on whether there is enough scale for the commercial structure to be efficient for both parties.
Does Aurea work only with imports?
Not necessarily. We can also structure domestic operations, distribution, trading or supply where there is an opportunity to optimize the chain between producer and buyer.
Can you work with products subject to special permits or regulations?
It depends on the product. Before accepting an operation, we analyze the regulations, permits, restrictions and specialized participants required. Regulatory viability is part of the initial evaluation.
Logistics, customs and inventory
Can you hold inventory in Mexico to make partial deliveries?
Yes. When the operation requires it, we can structure local storage and inventory to make deliveries according to the buyer's consumption or schedule.
Can you deliver to different plants or cities?
Yes. We can design nationwide distribution arrangements with one or multiple delivery points, depending on the conditions of the operation and the available infrastructure.
Who handles customs clearance?
Customs operations are carried out through the appropriate legally authorized participants and specialists. Aurea coordinates the process within the commercial and logistics structure of the operation.
Price, credit and financing
How does Aurea set its price?
It depends on the structure. An operation may include product cost, transport, insurance, importing, storage, distribution, financing and commercial margin. We aim to present the client with a comprehensive, economically transparent proposal.
Can Aurea finance a foreign trade operation?
Some operations may incorporate working capital, inventory or financing structures, subject to analysis and approval. Availability and terms depend on the buyer, supplier, product, amount, term and risk of the transaction.
Can I buy on credit?
In certain cases, trade credit terms may be considered. It is not automatic: each operation goes through a financial, commercial and risk evaluation process.
How to get started
What information do you need to evaluate an operation?
We normally need to know the product, technical specifications, required volume, purchase frequency, origin or current supplier, delivery destination, target price and desired commercial terms. With this information, we conduct an initial viability evaluation.
Is there a cost for the evaluation?
No. The initial evaluation is free of charge: it is a conversation to analyze the viability of the operation, in which we analyze all the information you share with us. If the operation moves forward, the terms are agreed in writing before starting.
How do I start an operation with Aurea?
Send us the basic information about your requirement. First, we conduct a preliminary viability evaluation; then we define the commercial structure, suppliers, logistics, payment terms, schedule and responsibilities before executing the operation.
Do you have an operation you want to evaluate?
Tell us what product you need, the volume, origin and destination. Our team will analyze the commercial, logistical and financial viability of the operation.
