Trading company for imports: we buy, import and sell you the product cleared through customs

Short answer

A trading company for imports acquires the goods abroad, imports them in its own name as the owner and sells them to the domestic buyer already cleared through Mexican customs. With Aurea, you receive the product landed in Mexico with a domestic purchase invoice, without having to coordinate the foreign supplier, international payments, transport or customs clearance.

When does it make sense to buy through a trading company?

It makes sense when your company needs a foreign-sourced input but does not want to take on the import operation: advancing payments to the supplier, managing international transport, coordinating customs clearance and holding inventory.

  • You buy an input on a recurring basis and want a single domestic supplier.
  • You found a supplier in another country, but you do not have an import structure.
  • You need partial deliveries to one or more plants.
  • You want to transfer the lead times, costs and risks of the international chain to a third party.

Who owns the goods during the import?

Aurea. We buy the goods from the foreign supplier, import them as the owner and assume the customs responsibility for that import. We then sell them to you in Mexico under terms agreed by contract. That real ownership is what distinguishes a legitimate purchase and sale from lending an importers' registry.

What do you receive and what does Aurea invoice?

You receive the product cleared through Mexican customs at the agreed delivery point, along with an invoice from Aurea for the domestic sale. Aurea invoices only the goods it actually sells to you; the foreign supplier invoices Aurea for its export sale.

What does the price include?

The sale price is calculated on the landed cost in Mexico: supplier price, international freight and insurance, customs clearance and duties, domestic transport, storage and the financing cost of the cycle, plus Aurea's commercial margin. We present it to you as a single figure before execution.

Compliance

What we don't do.

We participate only when Aurea has a real, defined and documented role in the operation.

  • We do not issue invoices for operations in which we do not participate.
  • We do not lend our importers' registry or import on behalf of third parties.
  • We do not sign contracts in which Aurea does not have a real operational role.
  • We do not participate in operations with counterparties we cannot identify and verify.

Frequently asked questions

Is it legal to import through a trading company?

Yes, when the trading company is the real owner of the goods: it buys them, imports them in its own name and sells them to the client under its own contracts and invoices. What is not legitimate is lending the importers' registry to a third party who is the true owner of the goods.

Do I need to be registered in the importers' registry?

Not to buy from Aurea. You acquire a domestic product; Aurea is the one that imports and meets the customs obligations as the owner of the goods.

Can I propose the foreign supplier?

Yes. We evaluate the supplier you have already identified or help you find alternatives. The final decision depends on its capacity, documentation and commercial terms.

Can you deliver to several of my plants?

Yes, when the operation justifies it, we can hold inventory in Mexico and schedule partial deliveries to one or more points.
