They do not serve the same function
Several companies and specialists take part in an import. Some buy and sell goods. Others coordinate the commercial operation. Others are involved specifically in logistics or customs processes.
Confusing their responsibilities can lead a company to hire a service expecting to get something completely different.

What is a trading company?
A trading company (comercializadora) takes part in the purchase and sale of products. It may buy goods from a supplier and then sell them to its customers, either domestically or through foreign trade operations, depending on its model and operating capacity.
Its profit usually comes from the commercial margin between its purchase and its sale, taking into account all the costs of the operation. A trading company may take part in an import, but that does not necessarily mean it designs or manages the entire supply chain.
What is a commercial operator?
The concept is broader. A commercial operator structures a transaction around a buyer’s need. In addition to buying and selling, it can coordinate sourcing, suppliers, negotiation, logistics, inventory, distribution and working capital. Its role is to turn multiple components into an executable commercial operation.
Aurea Trade aims to occupy precisely this position. We do not want to limit ourselves to moving goods between two companies: we seek to understand what the buyer needs and to structure the chain required to deliver it under commercially viable terms.
What role does the customs broker play?
The customs broker (agente aduanal) takes part in the customs clearance of goods in accordance with the applicable legal framework and within the powers granted to it. Its work is specialized and essential to foreign trade operations. However, it does not replace the buyer, the seller or the commercial operator.
A simple way to understand it is that customs is part of the operation, but the commercial operation is much broader than customs clearance. Before clearance, someone had to find the supplier, negotiate the product, determine quantities, set purchase terms, coordinate transportation and finance the goods. After clearance, it may still be necessary to store, distribute, finance and collect.

How do they work together?
A single operation can involve all three. The buyer requires a product. Aurea structures the operation commercially and may acquire the goods. Specialized providers take part in logistics, transportation, customs clearance and warehousing. Finally, Aurea delivers the product to the client under the agreed commercial terms.
None of them necessarily replaces the other: they are different functions within the same chain.
The key difference for the buyer
When a company is only looking to clear goods it has already purchased, its need is different from that of a company that needs someone to structure its entire supply.
You already have a supplier, a price, paid-for goods and defined logistics.
Specialized provider for that stage
You need to integrate supplier, purchasing, importing, inventory and distribution.
Commercial operator
The Aurea Trade model
Aurea can act as commercial counterparty and coordinator of the operation, relying on providers and specialists to execute each component. Our goal is for the client to be able to focus on a much simpler question:
How much product do I need, where do I need it and when do I need it?
We analyze what structure is required to make it possible.
