A good evaluation starts with the right information
When we receive a commercial opportunity, we do not immediately need a complex file. We need to understand the operation well enough to answer three initial questions:
To do so, we need to know a few basic elements.
Trade name, technical description, specifications, packaging and quality requirements.
Volume per order and estimated monthly or annual consumption.
Country of manufacture and supplier, if already identified.
Available quote, Incoterm or terms under which it was offered.
Type of company and the sector it belongs to.
City, plant, warehouse or delivery points.
One-time operation, monthly, quarterly or ongoing program.
What the supplier and buyer require.
When supply should begin.
Whether there is only a need, a supplier or quote, or the operation is already under way.
You do not need to have everything figured out
A company can approach Aurea at different stages. All three scenarios can be evaluated; what matters is identifying which parts of the operation already exist and which need to be structured.
“We consume this product and want to find another source of supply.”
“We found a manufacturer in another country, but we need to structure the import.”
“We have the commercial opportunity; we need to determine whether the numbers work.”
Why do we need to know the volume?
Because volume changes virtually the entire economics of the operation. A less-than-container load can have a completely different logistics structure from a recurring purchase of full containers. Volume also makes it possible to estimate inventory, import frequency, warehousing needs and the capital required.
Why do we ask about payment terms?
Because a commercial operation does not end when we know the margin. We also need to know when the money goes out and when it comes back.
For example, a supplier might ask for 50 % on order and 50 % before shipment, while the buyer asks for 30 days of credit after receipt. That difference creates a working capital need that must be considered from the outset.
What happens after you send the information?
Aurea carries out a preliminary evaluation. We analyze the commercial, logistics and operational structure to determine whether there is a reasonable path to execute the transaction. If the opportunity proves viable, we go deeper into suppliers, costs, logistics, regulation, financial structure and commercial terms.
The goal is not just to produce a quote. It is to determine whether we can build a sustainable operation.
A simple way to send us your operation
You do not need to prepare a presentation. A message like this one may be enough to get started:
